HOST A DIAPER DRIVE

Rally your community to keep babies clean, dry, and healthy. When you host a diaper drive for Little Hands Virginia, you’re helping families across our region access the essentials they need.

Whether you’re a business, school, faith community, neighborhood group, or just a few friends, you can make a big impact. We’ll give you tools, tips, and support so your drive is simple, fun, and successful.

STEP 1: Make a plan

Choose your dates, location, and who you will invite to participate.

 

Is this drive for your family and friends? Do you want to get your business involved? What about your child's sports team, or hosting a party or hot chocolate stand?

 

Think about where people in your network naturally gather - your office, school, place of worship, or neighborhood.

STEP 2: Spread the Word

Get creative! Use flyers, email, and social media to invite people to donate diapers. Consider having a theme, or offering something enticing to encourage people to come out.

 

Share why diapers matter and how Little Hands Virginia supports local families. Consider sharing share your personal story if you're willing.

STEP 3: Collect & Drop Off

Gather all donations, count the diapers, and bring them to the Little Hands Virginia office. We will make sure they get to families who need them the most.

​

All diapers must be dropped off by November 6th to be eligible for prizes and be counted towards the grand total.

KEY DATES

Now - Septemer 30th: Registration Period

  • Sign up to host a diaper drive and be kept in the loop with updates and details leading up to October

 

September 15th: Big Diaper Drive Host Call

  • Join us for a Zoom call on Tuesday, September 15th at 9:30am to get inspired, get questions answered, get ideas, and get motivated.

  • We will send out the Zoom link and a calendar invite closer to the date.

 

September 28th-30th: Big Diaper Drive Materials Pick-Up

  • Stop by the Little Hands Virginia office between 9am-3pm to pick up promotional items including yard signs, flyers, donation bins, swag, and more.

  • Check out the Diaper Bank and take photos to help with marketing of your drive.

October TBD: The Big Diaper Drive Kick Off Event

  • New this year - this is a family-friendly, come one come all, kick off event for Big Diaper Drive hosts and supporters.

  • Bring anyone helping put on your drive, whether it's your team, your family, your office, your neighborhood committee.

 

November 9th: Diaper drop off deadline

  • All Big Diaper Drive diapers must be dropped off by November 9th at 3pm in order to count towards the grand total and be eligible for prizes.
